What a beautiful voice. Just… say what you will about her personal life, but she was on track to be one of the modern jazz greats. She had that certain spark that fit jazz so well. She was on par with Billie, there was no doubt. Her voice, her voice, her voice.
I wish she didn’t have to go.

Just as the details of her death were made public, more breaking news (this time music-related) has been released from the Winehouse camp. According to reports, unreleased material from the UK singer are due out in December, compiled into an album titled Lioness: Hidden Treasures.
This posthumous release will mark the first compilation album from Amy Winehouse, featuring material from long-time friends and producers Salaam Remi and Mark Ronson.
£1 from every album sold will be donated to her namesake foundation.

The singer had long battled a severe addiction to alcohol and drugs and official post-mortem reports state that her blood-alcohol level was at 416ml per 100ml of blood - over five times the legal drink-drive limit of 80mg. No illegal substances were found in her system.
Since her death, Winehouse’s album “Back to Black” has become the UK’s bestselling album of the 21st century.

Beautiful. You can’t possibly deny her talent. You don’t have to like her, but you can’t viably deny it.
Nope. You can’t deny it at all. If all you know her for is ‘Rehab’, ‘Back to Black’ and her life choices, then shut up. Because as an artist, she was so much better than all of those things. Familiarise yourself with her music, and then maybe you can understand why people will miss her - people like me - because I think, despite all of her problems, she was fucking wonderful, and more people should think that too.
